quite simple really...

I just adore this photo. The plant pictured is one of my favorites. Naturally, I tend to forget his name...

This is the neat part. Every now and then, each and every one of his shiny green leaves fall off. And, although I know he's up to his old tricks, I still get a little melancholy when I see them fall, fall, fall. But then, a few days later, the tiniest little fern-like leaves emerge. Just like magic. See them?

terrarium is spelled L. O. V. E.

I'm officially in love. With terrariums. The latest lust-worthy containers are hanging globe terrariums. They're like tiny little worlds just...hanging out. This little fellow is sweet + simple (you know how we like it). Smoky gray sand paints a lovely canvas for a scattering of light green pebbles. And those two lads? A couple of classy boys in deep green spiked coats. A clump of ocean blue moss is tucked ever so sweetly just between the two to keep them cozy.

I'd like to move in here.

bromeliad beauty

I adore this air plant. Sweetly swirling around a cloud of moss, this little clump of feathery stems is the lightest shade of mint. Gworgeous. I like popping her under a bell jar to stay moist. To find your own, a great local San Diego spot for fabulous tillandsias is Chicweed.

lacy lady

This purple chick packs a punch. We were thrilled to find a new use for the sweet lacy candle jar, too. Repurposing is chic, dontchaknow.

sisterly stripes

This weekend's sunny skies and tour de Solana Beach inspired the sister to get gardening and ooh was it fun. My favorite fella of the day was none other than the, ahem, echiveria nodulosa.

Got a succulent I've never seen? My name might as well be on it. That's just what this little guy was. Sassy, stripey and totally sweet, he hangs in an encrusted seashell on the dining room table. Say hola...
